When we first took on the Gluten-Free Shop about 6 Months ago, we tried with newsletters to get some responses on how You, our customers, would like to go forward.

We didn’t have much feedback! Apart from a comment that we should “LISTEN to Our Customers” & that was from a chap who had bought once, ‘cos we were cheaper than the maker where he usually bought & that maker tried to cut off our supply because he didn’t like our Pricing structure.

Well it’s hard to listen when nobody speaks SO! Now we have a blog & in the meantime we’ve had a number of people say nice things about our service, our goods & even our website/shop.

What I plan to do below is give you a taste of things said.
Any poor ones are included although we do our best to fix the screw-up before it gets to a poor response, although we are human & do use couriers!

Please take a look at what is shown here & at our main website http://www.gluten-freeshop.co.uk
Tell US what you think, What foods/Beers Etc. you’d like us to supply, or if you have difficulty getting something.

What we do, IS IT Good, Bad, Ugly or worse indifferent & how can we improve if you’ve ideas.
DO NOT BE SHY, we won’t just show the best, that’s not our reasoning SO HEY YOU Help ALREADY!

Stay well & happy Rgds. Bob 

Comments so far: (we won’t publish customer details under our privacy policy)

I received my order on Wednesday, and am pleased to say it was all in
one piece. I am very happy with the service your company provided. The
beer is a gift for my friend who has to stick to a gluten free diet, so
I am hoping she enjoys it. I will certainly recommend your company if
she is looking for more.

Thank you for the prompt service.
I was afraid I was going to have to let you know that a bag of scones with sultanas mix had broken and some had spilled out. But when I read the invoice, I had ordered, and paid for, only one, so not to worry since the other bag is intact and I expect to be able to bake a batch from the broken bag too. Thank you for your generosity.
Ed. NOTE HERE NOT EVERYBODY GETS 2 for 1
Very impressed by speedy service & customer care – thank you & Happy Christmas.

Good morning

Thank you for your telephone message. I tried to call you back yesterday evening after work, but missed you.
If you have already sent the beer, then great we will take the risk of receiving it in time. If not, please do not worry, you can refund the cost to my card.
I only ordered the beer as I am hosting a garden party on Saturday and was latterly aware of a coeliac guest.
Thank you for all your help.

Received my order yesterday in good condition. Thank you for the quick delivery.

Well, thank you. You will definitely be getting more business from me! It is so nice to deal with a human being who obviously loves her job, has pride in it and cares about people, than it is dealing with some anonymous bod at the end of a computer who’s only there for the money! Ha Ha.

I was very impressed at 10.30 this morning when it arrived. Thank you for helping me with this present, only the rest of the family to shop for now!
I will be telling people how help you were and hopefully passing more business your way.
Thanks again

Q. If I can ask a favour, if it would be possible – can the Cranberry sauce be substituted with anything else?…A. Yes….. Either the spicy ginger cookies or a couple of the brownies – both sound superb.
Once again thanks for your input – been a real pleasure!

My partner and I run our own business so I know it’s important to give customers a personal touch nowadays. Here’s my testimony:

The customer service from www.gluten-freeshop.co.uk was outstanding. They went out of their way to accommodate my order and were extremely friendly and helpful. The service was very quick and their products are excellent value for money. I would highly recommend to anyone.

US! Just seen you have paid a delivery charge on your Ambar order. We can get the stuffing mix in the same box, so I will refund the delivery charge to your account………. Thanks for spotting that – I hadn’t! That’s excellent service and I’m very grateful

Hi, I’ve received my delivery today, very impressed with the super service.
Will definitely use you again.

Well, I know normally, that a year-end summary is a cheap way to add to a blog BUT forgive me for thinking that the end of 2011 & “THE NEW YEAR” really must be noted for us at www.gluten-freeshop.co.uk

It was almost exactly 6 months ago that we became the “new ” & very proud owners of the Gluten-Freeshop Ltd. Julian had decided his future lay in his core business & we had a great interest in providing Gluten-free foods & Gluten-free Beer which tasted good, had a broader appeal than what seemed available in the supermarkets & was both good tasting & good value.

We really only knew 2 things for certain:

Coeliacs & other gluten intolerant people get a somewhat raw deal. as they can’t always get, what is nice tasting or “normal” flavoured or even consider consuming some products which they liked before diagnosis & which are out there, without it being a full-time researchers job.

We only were scratching the surface by taking on GFS Ltd.

We did have, however, some very definite ideas on what we should & hopefully could do to change this!

As we are not all Coeliac, we could compare the tastes & textures of various foods/brands & styles, without the worry that we’d all be ill or doing ourselves major internal damage.

We would get the range altered to meet the preferences of our customers, where generally the Supermarkets can’t tread because it is outside their profit/business plan parameters. Why? because as long as we ONLY OFFER Gluten-free everything, there is no risk to our customers & we don’t have shareholders to worry about only us.

There is a vast range of good gluten-free foods & a world wide range of Gluten-Free Beer to try, to offer and to provide if only People knew about us & helped us get the stuff they wanted rather than just the basic staples usually seen in the small section on supermarket shelves.

We could get near the prices (we might even sometimes beat) supermarkets & specialist shops charge, because we can supply & deliver a whole range of shopping & so delivery costs end up as no more & probably less than the cost of petrol & time it takes our customers to “shlep” around all the shops buying one bit here & one or two bits there & we could make it convenient!

We also believed that although we must be an “On-line” business, if we were available at the end of a phone, those who would rather deal with a person than a machine could be helped, & so we have both a land-line Number 01455 213344, a mobile to receive texts & talk when we’re not at a desk 07969 150104 & of course a fax so mistakes in orders can be minimised.

Well we’ve begun, we’ve changed some of our foods, hopefully for better tasting and/or better value products. We’ve started call backs & tracking of deliveries & pre-emptive actions to ensure deliveries work out better & faster & of course we’ve reduced the delivery time & cost/wieght all over the country but particularly to Scotland which often suffers with higher delivery costs than is truly necessary.

We do still have a long way to go, new beers are coming in the very near future, new foods are being added all the while, we want to add information for our customers or just the interested in Gluten-free foods, & this is on-going BUT we’ve made a start! This blog being part of it.

WE NEED YOUR HELP… please let us know what we should offer & how we are doing otherwise we won’t know!

Let us have your thoughts to pass on to Coeliacs everywhere through the blog & for our info pages & of course:

if you’ve not tried us, come & try,

If you have come back again,

if you found us wanting et us know so we can put it right

& if you have ANY chance to spread the word PLEASE DO,

Follow us on twitter & facebook, spread the good stuff & stupid comments they are meant to be funny or Poignant.

we are committed to helping all lead a First class lifestyle not limit Coeliacs as many seem to do.

Thanks for your support & ALL THE VERY BEST for a Happy, Healthy & Prospreous 2012 & beyond.

Mart, Sandra, Bob & the Team
